It is not pretentious like other steak restaurants, what you see is what you get. No appetizers. You won't need any. With your entree you get a salad, bread, a vegetable side and choice of potato. The steak choices are SUPERB with Jak's filet being the best I have EVER eaten. The fish specials are out of this world. One of my personal favorites is the Stuffed Pork Chop. Go to Jak's or miss out on the best meal of your life! From the outside this place looked like an old bar but when you open the doors, your preconceptions are quickly changed by the modern atmosphere. If you don't know, there is an excellent Chinese restaurant with an excellent all-wood decor and fireplace next door that you can go grab a drink at and wait to be called for your table. Highly recommended rather than trying to wait there at Jak's as the bar and waiting area is too small to accommodate the crowd. Just let the hostess know and they will call over when your table is ready (many many locals do this so it's expected).
