Although the Duvall Cafe does better than most by offering Northwest fare (many fish dishes in addition to the meats and standard sit-down meals expected), they never regained the calibre of food they had when a young female chef from New York helped make a name of this mainstay Duvall establishment. The food is decent with the current chef - but you may want to get up and leave if you see the grumpy owner (Dennis) in the kitchen that night. Set expectations low - and be ready to pay prices you would expect from a best-tasting restaurant, and you just may enjoy the folksy, woodsy air of this pleasantly casual spot and its outdoor 'garden' patio tucked ever-so-slightly off the main street in the heart of downtown Duvall. For a slightly better meal albeit strictly Italian, consider Charlie's Italian restaurant close by - or take an even more casual step down to the Thai restaurant just as close.
