ReviewsVampires beware! Come one, come all to this very affordable family-style pasta restaurant. Got a big game tomrorrow? Planning on hiking up Mt. Mansfield? Need a veritable trough of food, at a reasonable price? If so, tonight, your dinner plans should include Bove's, where you can get a tremendous dish of pasta for a bargain price. One of my biggest gripes about restaurants is that they overcharge for pasta dishes--which we all know we could make for mere pennies at home. Bove's is another breed of pasta restaurant. Their pasta entrees cost around $6, and you get a LOT of pasta for your money, topped with their own brand of tomato sauce. The food is delicious; very strongly flavored, especially the garlic dishes. Vampires beware! In addition you can order a number of side dishes, ranging from green beans to a side of extra meatballs! For the adults, the alcoholic beverages are mostly under $3 also. There's nothing overpriced on the entire menu. Bove's has ample parking, and best of all, a convenient ATM adjoins the building, which you can use to get cash while you're outside standing in line (and there is a line, at times, of loyal patrons eager to taste Bove's delightfully tangy spaghetti sauce.) The best time to come here to eat is either before 6pm, or after 7:30. Try to avoid the rush, especially in the winter when waiting outside isn't such a pleasantry. The interior is reminiscent of a diner. It is not very spacious, and it is extremely cozy, with little room to maneuver. Many tables are partial booths, and provide little comfort or interest beyond being a place to sit in proximity to your mountain of food. That's all right, though, as you won't be thinking about the seating once they unload a dump-truck-sized portion of spaghetti in front of you. Show up hungry and don't be ashamed if you need to take half of it home. They surely give you your money's worth at Bove's. This is a great place to bring the team to 'carb up' before a game, or anytime you feel like enjoying a great plate of spagetti and meatballs with homemade sauce--the perfect Italian comfort food.
