ReviewsVery Unprofessional I clearly and explicitly told the kid at the cash register that I wanted a CHILI ONION Masala Dosa. Suspecting he did not get it, I repeated the order, emphasising CHILI ONION Masala Dosa. I also then ordered a second item, which the kid seemed to have trouble entering into the cash register. The owner/manager came over and helped him finish entering the order. I clearly and explicitly told the kid at the cash register that I wanted a CHILI ONION Masala Dosa. Suspecting he did not get it, I repeated the order, emphasising CHILI ONION Masala Dosa. I also then ordered a second item, which the kid seemed to have trouble entering into the cash register. The owner/manager came over and helped him finish entering the order. When my dosa arrived, it was a plain dosa, not the Chili Onion that I requested. When I called this to the attention of the owner/manager, he asked to see my receipt. (I knew right away there was going to be trouble because I [correctly] surmised he would try to use the receipt as the final authority). He insisted that HE had taken my order and he insisted that this is what I ordered. Meanwhile, I insisted that I told the KID, twice, specifically what I ordered. I was repeatedly contradicted. What makes it worse is that I have been coming in every week for quite some time and I always order the same thing. Other store owners would have got the pattern by now. I am treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism at all of the many other Indian establishments I eat at. The guy at Amma needs to learn how to treat customers. No, the customer is NOT always right, but this time the cafe really screwed up! I will never go back. There are many other fine Indian restaurants around, some of these guys know me by name, and NONE of them would ever contradict a customer who claimed that their order was wrong.
