ReviewsWhat a Gem! On a recent Monday evening, I went along with my husband and our children to eat at Amphora's Diner Deluxe in Herndon. What a surprisingly wonderful experience. We expected a "diner experience" but instead were treated to a fabulous dining experience to rival many of the restaurants in the Reston/Herndon area. Had we not been shopping for a bakery (more on that later) we may never have visited this restaurant. On a recent Monday evening, I went along with my husband and our children to eat at Amphora's Diner Deluxe in Herndon. What a surprisingly wonderful experience. We expected a "diner experience" but instead were treated to a fabulous dining experience to rival many of the restaurants in the Reston/Herndon area. Had we not been shopping for a bakery (more on that later) we may never have visited this restaurant. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, large portions and quite reasonably priced. I ordered a New York Sirloin Steak, my husband ordred the Salmon Special, and our children ordered off the kids menu. Unlike many othe restaurants, were surprised that the salad came with the entree. My husband's special even came with a delicious crabmeat bisque. The food was wonderful and a great value. The children's menu is large and includes the soft drinks and dessert. As for desserts, that was entirely the reason for coming to Amphora in the first place. We wanted to place an order for a birthday cake and hence discovered the restaurant. The cakes and desserts are truly mouth watering. The custom birthday cake for our daughter was the talk of the party - It looked just like the invitation. They told us that all the desserts were baked in house. What a surprise. All and all a great experience! We look forward to trying Amphora for breakfast.
