This roadside gem sits on Route 29 in Fairfax and has everything you'd want in a diner: greasy food, beaten up menus, low prices (a couple can easily come away from a meal spending just over $10), local characters, and a jukebox (though it is a CD jukebox these days). From the outside it doesn't look like much, but true to the old adage, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. While many of my friends frequent IHOP, I remain a fan of 29 Diner. Although their menu might not be as large or comprehensive, I enjoy the atmosphere present at the Diner. It feels good to get away from the hectic Fairfax county life and sit down for a good, filling meal. 29 Diner remains a refreshing alternative in my mind for great breakfast food.
