ReviewsBar and Restaurant with Something for Everyone This is a fun favorite for lunch, happy hour, or a late night bite. This is a fun favorite for lunch, happy hour, or a late night bite. Food Rating [8/10] Service Rating [6/10] Ambiance Rating [6/10] Resaturant by Day, Bar by Night Very reasonable prices for delicious food. In the Lowcountry, it's hard to find a restaurant that serves food you can chow down on. Great beer selection, great location. Outdoor patio is a must when the weather allows. My husband and I had dinner here last weekend, and I was so disappointed. I'd been in 1995 and really enjoyed it, but everything, from the bored, above-it-all waitress, to dirty silverware, to smoke drifting into the dining room from the bar, to the awful food was a huge let down. I ordered the seafood on grits, which arrive FLOATING in a nauseating sea of red grease. I couldn't even try it, so I switched with hubby (who said the flavor was OK) and ate his scallops and shrimp on penne. The seafood tasted OK, but the penne was mush, and pesto-like sauce was tasteless and it all sat in deep pool of oil. I'm not a health nut by any means, but all that oil just grossed me out. There are so many wonderful places to eat in Charleston. Don't waste your money or appetite here. My husband and I had dinner here last weekend, and I was so disappointed.
