ReviewsGood BBQ is worth a try Sticky Fingers is a nice restaurant with pretty good ribs. The BBQ wasn't outstanding - I've had better - but all in all it's pretty good. The restaurant reminds me very much of a restaurant chain known as "Red, Hot, and Blue." In fact, the two restaurants could easily be siblings based upon their respective menu offerings that have strong leanings toward Memphis Style BBQ and ribs. Yet, I would have to give a decided overall advantage to "Red, Hot and Blue" because the BBQ there is so much better than the fare that is offered at Sticky Fingers. Interestingly, we liked the non-entree portions of our meals very much. The Onion Loaf appetizer was perfectly prepared and the side dishes of baked beans and slaw that complemented our main BBQ dishes were very good as well. It was just too bad that the BBQ did not measure up, though we did hear a couple of diners at an adjacent table say that the the Dry Memphis Style Ribs they were devouring were excellent. Maybe we erred in not ordering the ribs. My wife and I were referred to Sticky Fingers by some locals, so we decided to give it a try. The service level at Sticky Fingers is of high quality and the ambiance and overall atmosphere there is satisfactory, though nothing special for an area like Charleston. If we eat at Sticky Fingers again in the future we would definitely lean towards trying the ribs and staying away from the BBQ. Food Rating [4/10] Service Rating [8/10] Ambiance Rating [6/10] Good Non-Carolina style ribs As a long time BBQ fan, I've had ribs, beef, pork from most places around the USA. As a long time BBQ fan, I've had ribs, beef, pork from most places around the USA. Sticky Fingers has a very good rib sampler platter; all 4 styles of rib in one dinner. As a previous reviewer noted, the BBQ itself is second-rate, at best. I think the problem is that the pork used for BBQ here in Charleston is incredibly lean (read: tasteless), and all the nice slow cooking and the best saucing can't overcome poor meat. PS Best places for BBQ are Alabama, California and Texas. Food Rating [8/10] Service Rating [8/10] Ambiance Rating [6/10]
