ReviewsExcellent Food and Presentation, Very Interesting We were really happy with our dinner. Great food, beautiful presentaion and very friendly service. We were really happy with our dinner. Great food, beautiful presentaion and very friendly service. The dining room was decorated with the motif of teapots all around. You will not be disappointed. Didn't see any kids, more of a place to relax and enjoy when you get a babysitter. Asian touches to some old standbys and many creative new dishes. Lovely decor and professional service. How refreshing to find something new and different. Asian touches to some old standbys and many creative new dishes. Lovely decor and professional service. Menu has many game meats of which I had ostrich, done to perfection. The Strawberry Rhubarb spring rolls just melted in my mouth for dessert. Food Rating [10/10] Service Rating [10/10] Ambiance Rating [10/10] Trendy does not equal good What a disappointment. We were two couples - the other couple remembered this restaurant was pretty good when it was in another town so we tried it. First of all, it smelled not so good when we walked in - usually you smell something good when you walk into a restaurant. Maybe we should have just turned around and left but we were there and decided to try it, and it wasn't too full so they seated us right away (now I know why it wasn't too full). It looks like a pretty enough place so we hoped it might be good. Our friends were really surprised when they looked at the menu. They said the menu was completely different here from what it was at the other place. We all looked at the menu and we all couldn't imagine anyone eating these horrible combinations - it's like they just took anything with a fancy name and threw it together and called it a dish. If this is what passes for creative and trendy you can give me non-creative non-trendy food anytime. Did anyone even think about whether the ingredients go with each other? I am sorry to tell you that some things just don't go together! We managed to find a few things on the menu that didn't sound too revolting. Service was very forgetful and we had to keep reminding our server about things that we didn't get, like a fork, one of our dishes that was forgotten, and then our check. The tea wasn't made right either, and tasted stale. (I have been learning about tea for a year or two and and I have had much better tea in other places.) Not good for a restaurant that has tea in the name and decorations and say they serve good tea. I hoped at least the tea would be good and that I could drink some and buy some but another disappointment. We weren't living here when they were in their old place so we can't compare, but our friends say they're shocked at how bad it is now and were really embarrassed that they suggested this place. And they use fish and chicken in their so-called "vegetarian dishes" as our poor friend was told AFTER eating it. So be warned if this matters to you! The desserts looked good but after eating the "creative" food we were just not feeling like dessert (especially our poor sad vegetarian friend). One other thing is that their bubble tea isn't authentic because it has none of those chewy little pearl things in it like real bubble tea - it's more like oversweet mixed tea and flavors. We are from the west coast and we have been getting REAL bubble tea out there for a long time and it always has chewy pearls in it! (Our friends said they made it that way, wrong, in the old place too.) Someone who was at another table and didn't look like they were enjoying their meal too much either told us the owners used to work with computers. Maybe they should go back to doing that. I have to do a lot of traveling for my job and have been to a lot of cities and countries and I am a pretty adventurous eater, like two of the others (the vegetarian is more careful), but none of us could remember having such a horrible meal anywhere. We are really sorry to write such a bad review but it is only fair to people who are thinking about eating here to know how bad it is. Although I guess some people will eat anything just to be trendy, and if that's you then I guess you'll like it here! What a disappointment.
