ReviewsGreat Old Fashioned Mountain Inn Dining Hall This is really a dining hall in a large, historic inn on the grounds of the Lake Junaluska Assembly, a United Methodist Retreat/Vacation/Assembly in This is really a dining hall in a large, historic inn on the grounds of the Lake Junaluska Assembly, a United Methodist Retreat/Vacation/Assembly in WNC. Most of the diners are guests of the hotel and employees of LJA. In fact, the meals are usually included in the price of the rooms. The food is served buffet style and is DELICIOUS! The menu changes with every meal and there is always a large, fresh salad bar and wonderful desserts. Anyone is welcome to eat here and people who do not stay in the hotel eat often. Sunday lunches are especially good and the dining room is full after church lets out with people from all over the area. This is worth a look, while the price seems steep remember that you are basically getting 'all you can eat', with everything included, AND great service. If you need something you do not see, just ask, usually they can accomadate any request. Plus, the inn itself is amazing and the lobby is a great place to sit and relax after getting full!!! No alochol and no smoking - this is a church facility of course! ENJOY. Food Rating [8/10] Service Rating [8/10] Ambiance Rating [10/10] I must have eaten at a different place than anonymous. I thought the food was just dormitory style--canned pudding, unseasoned vegetables, ordinary entrees. Everything tasted frozen and warmed up or canned. In fact, we go to Junaluska every summer and would like to stay at the hotel but you have to pay for meals with the hotel rate and we don't like paying for very, very ordinary food.
