Food Rating [10/10] Service Rating [8/10] Ambiance Rating [6/10] Contradicting experience... quite a disappointment I, too, have been to a variety of Thai restaurants in the metro Detroit area, and this restaurant was by far the worst establishment I have ever set foot in. Only a few minutes after we were seated, a customer came in to complain about the quality of the dish. In response, the waitress/hostess rolled her eyes in exasperation and stomped off into the kitchen. Not exactly the height of amiable service. When our food arrived, my dining partner found his noodle dish (supposedly with clear cellophane noodles) to be so lacking in the noodle part that we had to send the dish back. A few threads were drowning in a starchy brown sauce that tasted uncannily like soy sauce and water. I looked forward to my dish with great anticipation...an entree of crispy duck. What arrived was a sorry state of affairs. The skimpy pieces of duck contained little meat, and what meat there was prior to cooking was ruined by overcooking. My duck was charred and burnt to such a crisp that duck skin ashes fell away in my mouth. Needless to say, after this experience, we haven't been back. After reading the reviews here, I'm willing to concede that perhaps we came on a 'bad night'. However, after our initial dinner here, returning to Thai Garden is not a chance I'm willing to take.
