They became a local legend and national story when a homophobic, hate mongering preacher came to town and chose to picket the Aut Bar. Looking for an appropriate response, they turned it into a fundraiser: The owner solicited pledges to an AIDS charity for every minute the preacher picketed. People responded in droves, from all over the community and the country, and the preacher helped raise $6,000. Maybe he'll run a 10K race next time!
