ReviewsBest Chinese in Lexington This is my preferred Chinese Restaurant in Lexington. I usually get the buffet, because I am either by myself or with my daughter, although I have tried plenty of things off the menu in my time. The buffet has recently expanded, so, at least on the weekends, one can always get chow foon etc. While they do not have a dim sum lunch buffet on the weekend, they do have a few such items. I particularly like the crystal dumplings, which seem to have a spinach filling. The new pearl balls are interesting but tend to fall apart. And I have unfortunately been turned onto the chicken wings, thanks to my daughter. Probably the tastiest things you might encounter are things with garlic sauce and beef with carrots (don't remember whether they call it that or beef with celery). The hot and sour soup ranges from excellent (at which point it is probably the best around) to somewhat disappointing, but still on the high end. This is my preferred Chinese Restaurant in Lexington. Avoid the beef etc. in orange sauce, and note that the General Tsao's Chicken is suboptimal to say the least--at least it has been when I've had it. Also, they have the world's worst egg rolls, although I have seen some people eat them. From the chicken & cashew to the rice sticks, to the General Tsao's chicken, to some of the newer dishes like curried beef & onions, and yes, we love the egg rolls as well. Very friendly service, we'll continue to go there and get our take out from them. Other Chinese restaurants in the are pale in comparison - even the one in our own town. It's always fresh, hot and delicious when it arrives on table some 2 miles away. Our family frequently does take-out at Yangtze River and everyone from my 7 year-old on up love the food.
