Reviews

Cool Irish Pub, good beer, excellent pub food. Gave you the feeling of actually being there. Good bands on week ends. Cool Irish Pub, good beer, excellent pub food. Gave you the feeling of actually being there. Good bands on week ends.

Good Food and Fun Ambience

This is one of our favorite places downtown. This is one of our favorite places downtown. Like Cricket says, they do have a decent selection of good Irish and English beers on tap by the pint (Guiness, Old Spackled Hen, Boddingtons, etc. Plus a great hard cider). Ambience is quirkily comfy: your table is likely an old sewing machine table, the walls are hung with Irish memorabilia and old brewery ads, and the place is in a cool basement... What more can you ask for in a cozy bar? As for food: The menu's a little sparse, but food is very nice - especially if you're looking for something like 'comfort food with a twist'. Here are some highlights: o Try the fries! These are some of the best fries around. If you can, get an order of both the normal AND sweet potato fries (perhaps split between two?). Add this to the homemade ketchup (really, really good!), and you'll have a match made in heaven. o The corned beef with swiss sandwich is very good, as is the ham and cheese, especially if you're arriving for lunch. o The fish and chips is excellent. o The beef stew is much like mom made, at least if you had any Isles in your family :-) o If you have room for dessert, and still havent blown your calorie budget for the week, make sure to try the cobbler!
