I'm from New Yawk. This is the best pizza I've found in the Greater Boston Area. They don't deliver, but they're worth it. I'm from New Yawk. This is the best pizza I've found in the Greater Boston Area. They don't deliver, but they're worth it.

Amandos still nourishes stomach, soul

When I was a kid, my family lived three blocks from Armando's Pizza. It was a rare treat, due to somewhat restricted finances at the time, but the only other pizza we ate was during the Saints' feast days in the North End. When I was a kid, my family lived three blocks from Armando's Pizza. It was a rare treat, due to somewhat restricted finances at the time, but the only other pizza we ate was during the Saints' feast days in the North End. Then we moved to Wisconsin, where they think pizza is some sort of contest to see who can use the most cheese and cook it the shortest amount of time. Some twenty years later, I was back in the old neighborhood and went in for a slice. It was everything I could have hoped for; the kind of pizza that makes you feel lighter instead of heavier, the smell of the crust blackening at the edges of the bubbles in the dough drawing you in from blocks away. Thanks, Armando's, for still being there and still being the best.
