ReviewsVery Rude Asian-American Delivery Driver I've had both a bad and very bad experience with Minato Sushi in Brookline. The first time I ordered(delivery)the food was delivered cold. However, my second experience was one that led to me never returning to Minato Sushi. I've had both a bad and very bad experience with Minato Sushi in Brookline. The first time I ordered(delivery)the food was delivered cold. However, my second experience was one that led to me never returning to Minato Sushi. My second order was brought by the same delivery person, an Asian-American student. He became extreme loud and rude in the hallway outside my apartment, and began to throw a fit and became verbally abusive when he was ONLY given a $2.00 tip on a $10.00 order. I remained polite and apologized, but he continued to rant, and actually threw the remaining change back in my face! Needless to say, I was in shock... When I called Minato Sushi, the owner, A Korean woman, apologized for his behavior, and said he had been upset recently by the tips he was getting from his delivery customers. I think a 20% tip on a delivery that was right down the road from his workplace is very fair, especially in these economic times. When I was a university student a decade ago, I worked my way through school moving furniture for a moving company. Often, myself and the driver would pack up and move entire homes from one location to another in the same day, without receiving so much as a glass of water from the homeowner. We weren't pleased, but we would never have thought to yell at the customer! I've always been considerate of people who perform these kinds of jobs, which makes me both sad and confused about this incident with Minato Sushi. Sadly, it would seem that if you are not willing to tip more than 20%, you should not call Minato Sushi for delivery (unless you are prepared for insults and abuse from the driver) Food Rating [4/10] Service Rating [2/10]
