ReviewsOne of the Best Fugakyu is one of the top choices for Japanese food, not just in Brookline, but in the Greater Boston area. Unlike many of the new Japanese spots, Fugakyu gives equal attention to the atmosphere and the food. The bamboo-centric decor goes far beyond the standard sushi bar, and the many small rooms allow diners to feel like they are dining in a semi-private (or, in some cases, private) restaurant. The arrangement also seems to cut the noise that is so prevalent when dining out these days. Unfortunately, the layout also seems to slow the servers, and the food, down. Unfortunately, although you will certainly leave full and satisfied, your wallet may seem quite a bit lighter. The food and ambiance are great -- I'm just not sure if the value is.
