ReviewsEat and Go Shopping First it was a Thai grocery. Then they started to serve food. Now, new tables have crowded the grocery items into a small part of the operation. I hope they don't disappear entirely; for me, being surrounded by exotic groceries while eating food prepared from some of them has a strange kind of charm. First it was a Thai grocery. I hope they don't disappear entirely; for me, being surrounded by exotic groceries while eating food prepared from some of them has a strange kind of charm. The food is not all that different from a number of "lower-end" Thai places that are springing up around Boston and Brookline these days, but it also tries to dress up the food just a little. It's not as fancy as some of the old guard, but you do get table service, and some more complex dishes. I recommend whatever is on the specials board, as these dishes tend to be more unusual. You can eat Pad Thai anywhere (though Dok Bua does a nice job with this standard too), why not try something different? Service can be a little scattered, and the ambiance is obviously nothing fancy, but you're not paying black-tie prices either. Dok Bua delivers a taste of the exotic for a very reasonable price. I tried the beef and broccoli with rice and ate the whole large dish all by myself, the Pad-thai's etc. were great. But I like the Thai Ice tea the best.
