No good.

Wow, what a waste of my time and money. My family came into town and requested to go here. The service was completely indifferent (never refilled my $2.00 glass of iced tea even once, a courtesy you can expect at most dives around here). It took forever to even get any drinks, and they weren't busy, so no excuse. I can only speak for my food, the coconut shrimp, which was tasty, but $15.99 for 8 medium-sized shrimp thrown down on a bed of tepid, carboard fries the likes McDonald's would be ashamed of? Ridiculous. The cole slaw side was decent, however. Apparently they think no one else around here serves coconut shrimp, so they can act like it's all exotic and short you while charging an exorbitant amount. No one else really enjoyed their meal, either; the Bourbon Shrimp was way too garlicky and the 12.99 appetizer tray seemed to be composed mostly of pieces of paper, condiments, with the few pieces of actual appetizer hidden in there like they were waiting for us to go on an easter egg hunt. The waiter was nice but acted like a robot programmed to go through and explain the drinks menu and push some "recommendations" so that I wondered whether people come here and actually have trouble picking what to eat. Overall, a huge waste of money, when right down the street at about the same price range is the Crescent City Brew House and Coops, local establishments well worth your money. I was trying to be polite and flexible in letting the guests choose the restaurant, but after that experience, I'm taking charge and we're not going to any more pathetic, rip-off tourist traps. I don't know how Bubba Gump's stays in business (it was a sappy movie anyway) unless based on the fact that a lot of people coming here are so used to the chain-restaurant crap that they don't even know what decent food actually is any more and will go for the familiar and name brand when with a little initiative and courage they could be eating from an endless banquet of authentic New Orleans delights.

tasty but too much hassle

I was hungry and wanted a shrimp po-boy, went in and ordered, returned 15 min later, and after at least 15 more min, I was on my way out with a hugely decorated (with lettuce and tomato) sandwich with some tasty fried shrimp and a bug hunk of bread. I ate. I did say i was hungry!
