ReviewsA taste from the east This is a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is semi romantic. The food is outstanding. Make sure to get Jason as a waiter. This is a wonderful restaurant. This is a very good restaurant with reasonable prices. I especially like to get the vegetarian platter since it offers a lot of variety. There are several locations in Baton Rouge. I believe the Corporate Blvd. location to have the best food. Their vegetarian mousaka is awesome. I do not like their greek salad, I think they need to work on it. The leaves of lettuce are too big and it is drowning in a white dressing. I prefer a vinaigrette with feta cheese topping. They are flexible with the menu, too. If you order something and do not want a side order, they generally will substitute out for something else of equal or less value. I never get the salad, I substitute for hommus or baba gannouj (sp?). Anyway, it is a good restaurant and it is where I go when I get a craving for Greek and Lebanese. They also have lunch specials. Start with the meat-stuffed grape leaves, kibbi, fried cheese, or lamb taratour. I've tried them all, and they're all wonderful. The hummus is also THE BEST. My wife loves the chicken shawerma salad and gets it every time. Don't let the last review fool you - the dressing is the best! A creamy Greek dressing with lots of feta cheese. I personally like the souvlaki or falafel sandwich, both are excellent tasting. Get the Lebanese tea to drink -wonderful, with a hint of rose water. For dessert, you can't go wrong with their baklava. We go about once a week and this is the first restaurant I've ever been a 'regular' at. I'm a foodie, so trust me, this is an excellent restaurant! The wait staff is very friendly, and authentic Lebanese. Fantastic! is the way to sum it up. Start with the meat-stuffed grape leaves, kibbi, fried cheese, or lamb taratour. Food Rating [10/10] Service Rating [8/10] Ambiance Rating [8/10] Best Greek Lebanese When I lived in Baton Rouge, I would frequent Albasha's at least two to three times a week, now since I've moved out of state, when I go back to Baton Rouge, I go directly there, even before I see my children. I've tried to get them to open a resturant here in Texas, but..... Anyway, I really miss the food. Nothing that is even close here in Texas, anyway, the places I've tried.
