ReviewsSouthern French Bistro in South Central Indiana Le Petit Cafe is one of the city's gems. My brother, who spent a year in Nice, France, claims that Le Petit Cafe is absolutely typical. The atmosphere is warehouse-chic, with plants and cheery lighting. The owner and his wife are both chef and server. The menu is printed on a blackboard at the front of the dining area, and consists of a beef, a pork, a poultry, and a fish entree. The vegetables are whatever looks good at the market that day. All entrees are beautifully prepared, and all sauces are wonderfully fresh. The owner often will sit down next to customers to talk. If he suggests a wine with dinner, it's a good idea to take him up on the suggestion! Prices are extremely reasonable for French food--about $14 per person, excluding alcohol and dessert. I wish I could write about the desserts, but serving size is so large that I've never been able to get that far Le Petit Cafe is one of the city's gems.
