Reviews Food: For appetizers I recommend the potato puffballs. Always order extra sour cream with them. Fried mushroom and mixed fried vegetables are also a good choice. Food: For appetizers I recommend the potato puffballs. Always order extra sour cream with them. Fried mushroom and mixed fried vegetables are also a good choice. The pub grub includes lamb stew, a sausage and potato stew, fish and chips, hamburgers and lamburgers. The fish and chips are the best in town and the best price (including the chain fish stores). Salads are ok - I prefer the side salad with the blue cheese dressing. The restaurant serves full meals starting at $10 and going up to about $20. You need to be hungry for the big meals. Steak, trout, and salmon are always a good choice. Drink: I think they have Budweiser here but why bother? Harp, Guinness, Pilsner Urquell and other fine beers are available. The Scoth selection is fairly good from what I've been told. Service: The management emphasizes good service to their staff. However, ther have been times when we've not been serviced very well at all - and not during a busy night either. In general service is good. Ambiance: This is the best atmosphere in town. The bar itself is over a hundred years old and carved The booths are spacious. Even though many college students come here it is not a pick-up bar. Sometime you will find people drinking a stout beer while reading a book. Food Rating [8/10] Service Rating [6/10] Ambiance Rating [8/10]
