ReviewsLeave the Barn to the livestock Considering that the Amana Barn Restaurant is the priciest restaurant in Amana, this was a very disappointing meal. The soup was served lukewarm. I ordered Jaeger Schnitzel, which I have eaten many times at German restaurants. The Barn's version was tough and chewy. The gravy looked like it had been taken out of the refrigerator and reheated, and there wasn't a single mushroom present in the gravy (Jaeger Schnitzel is served with mushroom gravy). The Amana Barn, unlike several other restaurants in Amana, doesn't include a beverage or dessert with the meal. I'd recommend the Brick Haus or Colony Inn if you want an outstanding meal at a decent price. Food Rating [4/10] Service Rating [8/10] Ambiance Rating [6/10] Nice change from all he SAME SAME SAME The Amana Barn restaurant is by far my favorite family style restaurant in the colonies. The food is still served in big pass around bowls & platters, all you can eat, family style like the others, but with a bit more creativity and more unique dishes than the others, as well as real from sctratch foods more as the norm than the exception. The guys that run the place put their heart and soul into it and it shows. The Amana Barn restaurant is by far my favorite family style restaurant in the colonies. No, it is not your average run of the mill German restaurant like the others... it is like no German resataurant I have seen and it is a pleasant change!
