Oh not not Thai...

"Oh no not Thai, I don't like Thai" was the reply my husband gave when I said that my department at work was going out for a meal. But after dining at Bahn Thai he said he liked it. There were 18 of us, and we decided to have the set menu of entree, soup and main. The entree was a plate including satay beef sticks (the sauce was a bit too generous and bit too pea-nutty for my liking) chicken wings, pork ribs, spring rolls. Pretty standard stuff. The soup was nice, two flavours to choose from both chicken, one with coconut and one without although fairly similar. The mains kept on coming, there was plenty of rice to accompany the dishes which kept coming, ginger chicken, garlic chicken. While the quantity was great, the quality was a bit lacking, all the dishes looked very similar and also tasted very similar. Also there was nothing really spicy which I was expecting/hoping for. It didn't seem like Thai because there was nor "burn" factor. But this was good for the non-Thai fans that were with our party. Maybe next time I'll pick something from the menu rather than going for the set pieces.
