Disappointing

We went there for the mother's day brunch - $13.99 a plate. Now, granted, as a waitress I *know* what mother's day can be like, but this was pretty bad. We went there for the mother's day brunch - $13.99 a plate. Now, granted, as a waitress I *know* what mother's day can be like, but this was pretty bad. We got there at about 1:30 and were surprised to see a sign in the window saying the brunch ended at 2, since the ads before then had all said 3. However, they didn't look to be packing it up, so we didn't hassle them about it. When we got up to eat, however, I went to the breakfast table and picked up some french toast, bacon, and sausages, when I happened to tip my plate a bit and grab at the sausages to keep them from falling. The barely warm sausages. The bacon was the same. The toast was completely cold. We informed the waitress, who claimed it "must have just happened" (which is impossible, considering the lack of heat in the food), and she offered to warm up our meals for us. I didn't have time to eat elsewhere before work, but I wasn't too happy to be eating meat that'd been sitting out unheated for such a long period. And of course, microwaving the French toast did nothing to improve it. I ate what I could and went back up for some strawberries and whipped cream. The whipped cream had settled and separated and was now not even thick enough to stick to the spoon anymore. My sister reported the soup as being extremely salty, and she refused to eat the roast beef, saying it tasted 'odd'. The decor was pretty shabby, but then it's not exactly an upscale restaurant, just a truck stop with a 'dining room' in the back - plastic tablecloths, decor that was last done in the 70s .. The fresh flowers on the tables were a nice touch, but should have been a different flower - these ones were so strongly scented they mingled with the taste of the food. The service was decent - not spectacular, but passable.
